Whitley + Darius’s Wedding day was such a beautiful and cooler August day. After many years of being together and pushing their wedding day back because of COVID this day was long awaited for.
This venue was such a stunning and unique place. It was so spacious and had the most distinctive style + design. The stone details were to die for! Their day was filled with laughter and sunshine. Their first look was filled with tears and smiles from ear to ear. We ventured down to the venues creek and took their bridal portraits. The prettiest little butterfly landed right on Darius’s finger and didn’t want to leave. It was such a sweet detail from the day. Their ceremony + toasts were filled with the sweetest words form their loved ones. They ended the perfect night dancing the night away celebrating Darius + Whitley’s lovely Wedding Day! We wish you all the best!

Lindsey + Brian summer wedding
It was a super hot beautiful day in July, preparations were made for preventing covid and the guest list had to be cut due to govenor’s orders. Despite the list being shorter their day was so special and filled with joy. Everyone celebrated their love for one another and it truly was such a special day.
The day was perfect, Lindsey got ready with her gals and laughed all morning. She was so relaxed and you could tell she was just so happy to be marrying Brian. They got married in the most beautiful little chapel hidden in Louisville, Ky, and the venue was just a few miles away in Simpsonville at a cute and whimsical barn. Their colors for their wedding was a mint & peach summer color, it all went beautifully together. All Guest had to
wear mask to enter the chapel, so after the ceremony all guest lined up and the Bride and Groom ran through the train of their family and friends. Their chapel ceremony and the walk through was so beautiful, and such a great way to say hello to guests. It was all so special. Only immediate family and bridal party attended the reception. They are hoping to have a bigger reception this Fall to celebrate with all the special people in their lives. All in all their day was so beautiful and their love for each other was shown throughout the day. It couldn’t have been any better.

Married October 19, 2019
There were so many highlights on Maddy and Brad’s day, it’s hard to think of just one that sums it all up. I think of a 1969 Camaro, puppy love, unexpected rain, and a cake made to look like, get this, a RZR dune buggy.
Let’s start at the beginning. Maddy had booked us way back in January and we did their engagement shoot this past summer. I already knew them as really nice, laid-back people who love to travel and love the outdoors (seriously: their dream date would be moose hunting in Alaska). Maddy is in human resources/logistics and Brad is a warehouse manager. They met on campus at the University of the Cumberlands and, three and a half years later, they were ready to tie the knot.
The ceremony was at a pretty church in Williamsburg. Brad didn’t want to see Maddy before the wedding, so, instead of a First Look, they each stood against one corner of a brick wall, held hands and gave each other gifts. Maddy gave Brad an engraved watch, and Brad gave Maddy a picture frame with a dog collar wrapped around it. The picture was of an adorable grey lab puppy, which he had bought for her as a surprise. So sweet! She immediately started crying (who wouldn’t?). They will pick up their new pup after they get home from their honeymoon.
Maddy, who is originally from Indiana, has two dads, and she did a First Look with both of them, which was emotional, especially for her stepdad. Then, her biological dad walked her down the aisle, and her stepdad officiated the wedding! So sweet.
After the I dos, Maddy and Brad sped off in a white 1969 Camaro — it had belonged to Brad’s late uncle and Brad and his dad have fixed it up — and headed to Brad’s family farm to take pictures. By then, rain was sprinkling a little bit, but we made do, and the wedding party was really good-natured about it. We ended up getting such good shots that really captured the atmosphere of the day.
The ceremony took place in The Corbin Center, which is a community center. Normally, the space isn’t too exciting, but they did such an amazing job decorating everything to really make the room special. They incorporated antiques everywhere (the cake was on an antique vanity) and they even had a separate section displaying the take-home gifts. The gifts were individually-wrapped dog biscuits “given” to guests by Maddy and Brad’s lab, Luke. I love that idea! My Lucy and Bokeh were sure happy with me when I got home. Ha!
The ceremony was a really big party. There was dancing, a great meal with pulled pork and mac and cheese, and, yep, a bit of bourbon. Ha! The groom’s cake was made to look like a RZR because one of their favorite things to do is go riding, especially on Black Mountain in Harlan. Their other fave thing is to travel and so off they went to Hawaii after their wedding. So jealous!

Allison + Jared’s engagement shoot was supposed to be a sunrise session! It was a super foggy morning and with all the Kentucky rain we knew there wouldn’t really be a sunrise, but that was ok because we had a wonderful morning minus the humidity, haha! Jared and Allison are both from Somerset and they went to Western Kentucky University for college, they had never met each other but from the same hometown. A friend introduced them, only to fall in love with each other! They are really the cutest together. We can’t wait for their wedding day in October!
Andrew & Terralynn’s wedding is in November. We are so exited for this wedding as they are like family, They are from my husbands home town Eminence, KY.
We had a great evening with lots of laughs, chasing light & clear skies from the rain. I may or may not have fell down in a creek, geez! Thank goodness I had laid my camera down prior, Great memories for sure!
Seriously, how can this not be the sweetest engagement shoot since they have a new puppy, isn’t he the cutest? Gosh, I love dogs so much, he was such a good boy!
We ended the evening at Cave Hill Winery, they are always so gracious to photographers and we are so appreciative of that. If you have never seen their venue, you should check them out for sure!
Andrew and Terralynn are both in college and plan on going to graduate school, they have such a bright future ahead of them! Not only do they work hard but they do wedding videography on their spare time.
The Tonya Lynn Team are ready for the most important day of their future!
