Allison and Jared’s wedding was so emotional and sweet, I literally cried about five different times capturing their day. Part of it was because I’ve known Allison since she was young. She was a lifeguard at our subdivision pool, and her mom was a teacher to my kiddos at Science Hill. She’s sweet and quiet and really laid-back.
She and Jared met at Western Kentucky University, even though they both grew up in Somerset. They are both still students, with Jared working toward becoming an estimator and Allison planning on attending grad school to become a behavioral analyst for children on the autism spectrum.
Jared first asked Allison out on an ice cream date, which ended up lasting five hours. Wow! After that, they were joined at the hip and got engaged when Jared kneeled down by a waterfall at a botanical garden and proposed. So romantic! A year and a half later, here we were upstairs and in back rooms of Oak Hill Baptist Church taking pictures of everyone getting ready.
Jared didn’t want to see Allison before the wedding, but they were still together before the ceremony. They each stood with their backs against either side of a pillar and held hands and prayed together. Jared looked handsome in his tux and Allison’s dress was simple and perfect. Her flower crown was so gorgeous!
Allison did do First Looks with her dad, her bridesmaids and her grandparents. Talk about tears! Her dad was crying, calling her “my baby” while he hugged her, and Allison nearly bawled in her grandparents’ arms. So very sweet. Everyone just kept saying, “Happy thoughts, happy emotions,” after someone would tear up. Ha!
When it came time for the ceremony, Jared was the one who teared up when he saw Allison. They seem crazy about each other.
The reception took place in Russell Springs at The Barn at Goose Creek, which was lit up beautifully with golden lights. The evening was also really clear, so we got some great shots of just Allison and Jared together outside. There was dancing — Allison loves to dance, though it’s not really Jared’s thing — and the night ended with a send-off with sparklers.
I am so thankful I got to be part of this special day. Allison and Jared, I wish you so much happiness in the future!

Allison + Jared’s engagement shoot was supposed to be a sunrise session! It was a super foggy morning and with all the Kentucky rain we knew there wouldn’t really be a sunrise, but that was ok because we had a wonderful morning minus the humidity, haha! Jared and Allison are both from Somerset and they went to Western Kentucky University for college, they had never met each other but from the same hometown. A friend introduced them, only to fall in love with each other! They are really the cutest together. We can’t wait for their wedding day in October!
Brad + Maddy
We are so thrilled about these two getting married!
Brad and Maddy met at college in Williamsburg, KY. Not only are these two a beautiful couple but their connection is the sweetest! Brad took us to his family farm land, It was beyond gorgeous! We fought the rain and Brad showed us a little off roading, haha!
We are looking forward to their Fall October wedding, just around the corner!
Cheyenne and Gavin’s engagement shoot was perfect! When we met Cheyenne and Gavin we instantly knew we would be perfect to photograph them! Not only is Cheyenne stunningly gorgeous, but she has this southern charm about her and Gavin is such a handsome, kind, gentle fiance. When you put these two together there is a connection like no other. Their love shows in every touch and the way they stare into each others eyes!
We had such a great evening during their photo shoot and we can’t wait for their June wedding day, which can’t get here fast enough!
I know I have said this before but, every bride and groom that books Tonya Lynn Studios is not only our customer, but our friends! We look forward to capturing many memories with these two in the future!
Happy one week anniversary Ben & Emily! Their day was the most beautiful winter fairytale wedding. Everything was perfect! There was so much love throughout the day! Ben and Emily did not want to see each other before the wedding which is always a challenge for winter weddings because it gets dark so early. We lucked out and the sun shined and we were able to capture some photos right after the ceremony! Emily’s family were a big part of my husbands life (Jeremy) growing up from his home town, they were like his family. So with that being said it was such an honor when Emily called me and asked me to be there for her special day! Emily was just a little girl at our wedding 16 years ago and it brought back so many memories. She has become such a wonderful young lady and we are so happy for her! We can’t wait to see where Her and Ben’s life lead to!

Farha + Victor
Gosh where do I start? I have known Farha for a while now so when she called me and asked me to photograph her wedding I was beyond thrilled. Jeremy and I are so excited for Victor and Farha’s special day in June. I met Victor for the at the engagement session, so it was the first time I have seen these two together. I loved the way he looked at her, the way she laughed with him, and that sparkle between them both. I loved hearing about their plans for the future.
It is very clear they adore each other. I am so excited to see your future grow with lots of love.
When Wyndee called me and asked me to photograph her wedding, I was so excited. Wyndee and I knew each other from high school and re-connected recently at another wedding. It was a honor that she choose us to be a small part of one of the most important days of her life. Her wedding day was beyond perfect. I know these two have waited a very long time to get married, I think they said they have been dating for 18 years!! I am so thrilled to see your love grow as the years go by. Thank you Wyndee and David for being the absolute best. Love you guys!!

I am super excited for the year!!
Finally! A brand new website, and I can blog now! YAY!
When I was thinking about what my first blog post would be, I had a few ideas, but what stood out the most was my success. I have to admit it hasn’t been easy. There have been a lot of tears involved — I have missed family gatherings, been absent in my friendships, and put a lot on hold in my life.
This is going to be my fifth year as a photographer. WOW! I can’t even believe I am saying that. Five years. It is crazy to look back and see the progress I’ve made. I am so excited to see where Tonya Lynn Studios goes from here. I don’t want to stop learning and growing, and am so grateful for the experiences I’ve had.
Last year, I attended a wedding workshop hosted by photographer Katelyn James at her home. I met 12 incredible women and learned so much. Next week, I will travel to Florida to train with the best in the country. I am thankful for this opportunity, and the ability to share with you what I learn on my blog. Stay tuned!
